BLOOMINGTON, ILL.- The Elmhurst women's basketball team dropped their second matchup of the season against Illinois Wesleyan University 85-67 on the road.
The Bluejays (7-14/2-10 CCIW) matched the Titans (14-6/8-3 CCIW) 7-7 in the first half of the opening quarter but a 9-0 run gave Illinois Wesleyan an early 16-7 lead. Despite 
Courtney O'Donnell's 12 points, shooting (5-of-5) from the field the Bluejays found themselves down 37-25 headed into the second half.
In the third quarter Catie Eck led the Titans with 10 points helping extend their lead to 66-44 entering the fourth quarter. The Bluejays came within 16 points during the fourth quarter but could not rally back, dropping their CCIW matchup 85-67.
The Bluejays were led by O'Donnell's 21 points and three rebounds while shooting 88.8 percent from the field (8-of-9) and 100 percent (5-of-5) from the foul line. 
Marissa Urso and 
Lily Greifenstein each finished with eight points on the night while 
Zori Miller added nine points for the Bluejays. Elmhurst shot 45.1 percent (23-of-51) from the field, 22.2 percent (4-of-18) from beyond the arc, and 85 percent (17-of-20) from the free throw line.
The Titans were led by Eck's 23 points and five rebounds, knocking down 100 percent (11-of-11) of her free throw shots. Kendall Sosa added 16 points and Brooke Lansford recorded nine of her own for Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans shot 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field, 31.3 percent (5-of-16) from the three-point line, and 66.7 percent (18-of-27) from the foul line.
The Bluejays will travel to North Central College on Saturday (February 8, 2020).
