ELMHURST, ILL. – The Elmhurst women's basketball squad dropped their final home game of the 2020 season, falling to Millikin University 82-62.

In a back-and-forth first quarter Marissa Urso led the Bluejays (9-15/4-11 CCIW) with five points, but Elmhurst found themselves trailing the Big Blue (15-8/8-6 CCIW) 19-13. Millikin extended their lead in the second quarter, leading Elmhurst 46-30 at the end of the first half. Sophia Lathe led the Bluejays with 10 points while Becca Gerke added nine points for the Bluejays in the first half.

Millikin blew the game open in the third quarter, leading by as many as 30 points and ending the third quarter ahead of the Bluejays 72-45. Elmhurst was unable to rally back in the fourth quarter, dropping its final home game of the season 82-62.

Becca Gerke led the Bluejays on senior day, recoding 13 points and six rebounds. Lathe helped by scoring 15 points and four rebounds, while Urso added eight points on the afternoon. Elmhurst shot 39.7 percent (23-of-58) from the field, 30 percent (6-of-20) from the three-point line, and 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line.

Millikin was led by Bailey Coffman's double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Hildebrand helped her squad by scoring 15 points and collecting three rebounds. Jazmin Brown added nine points in the win. The Big Blue shot 54.4 percent (31-of-57) from the field, 50 percent (9-of-18) from the three-point line, and 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from the free-throw line.

The Bluejays wrap up their 2020 season at Carthage College on February 19.
