Derek Dotlich celebrated senior day by scoring a season-high 26 points to lead the Elmhurst men's basketball team to an 87-75 win over Millikin University.
Elmhurst upped its record to 19-5 overall and 10-5 in the CCIW with the victory.Â

Millikin (4-19, 1-13 CCIW) scored the game's opening bucket, but it marked the only time the Big Blue would lead in the contest. Elmhurst score the next seven points to open up a 7-2 lead. Millikin pulled even at 9-9 with 14:30 remaining, but Elmhurst rattled off a 19-7 run over the next six minutes to open up a 28-16. Millikin cut Elmhurst's lead down to nine with five minutes remaining, but the Bluejays closed the half on a 12-5 run to open up a 49-33 lead at the break.

Elmhurst pushed its lead up to 21 points early in the second half, but Millikin responded with a 17-5 run to close to within nine with 14:30 remaining. The Big Blue continued to close, pulling to within six points (68-62) with 8:35 left to play. The Bluejays used a 13-4 over the next five minutes to extend their lead back to 16 points (84-68) before closing out the contest with the 12-point victory.

Elmhurst shot 55.7 percent (34-of-61) from the floor, including 45.5 percent (10-of-22) from three-point distance. The Bluejays outscored Millikin 46-3 in the paint and outscored the Big Bleu 25-8 on fast breaks.

Dotlich equaled his season-high with 26 points, shooting 10-of-18 from the floor, including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.
Jay Militello added a career-best 20 points to go along with six rebounds. Militello shot 7-of-9 from the field and added three steals in the victory.
Dominic Genco added 15 points for the Bluejays while
Lavon Thomas totaled nine points and seven rebounds.
Jonathan Zapinski came off the bench to score eight.

Millikin shot 40.6 percent (26-of-64) from the floor, including 37.5 percent (9-of-24) from three-point distance. Korbin Farmer pace the Blue Blue in the loss with a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. Troy Burrows added 15 points while Jake Hampton scored 14.

Elmhurst closes out the regular season by hosting Carroll University on Wednesday, February 19.
