CHICAGO, ILL.- The Elmhurst women's basketball squad fell to North Park 57-38 on the road.

The Bluejays (7-11/2-7 CCIW) started off strong and only trailed the Vikings (15-3/8-1 CCIW) by two points at the end of the first quarter (16-14). North Park went on an 8-0 run late in the second quarter to take a 10-point lead before the end of the first half (30-20).

In the third quarter, North Park was able to edge the Bluejays 19-10 and extend their lead to 49-30 headed into the fourth quarter. Throughout the fourth quarter the Vikings maintained their 19-point lead, defeating the Bluejays 57-38.

Elmhurst was led by Kween Jean's seven points and 10 rebounds. Kelly Weyhrich and Elena Cabrera each had six points and one rebound. Courtney O'Donnell added five points and six rebounds for Elmhurst. The Bluejays shot 31.4 percent (16-51) from the field, 22.2 percent (2-of-9) from the three-point line, and 50 percent (4-of-8) from the foul line.

The Vikings were led by Jayla Johnson's double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Josie Summerville added 12 points and five rebounds for North Park. Angelina Villasin came off the bench to record six points and five rebounds on the afternoon. North Park shot 41.3 percent (26-of-63) from the field, 8.3 percent (1-of-12) from the three-point line, and 44.4 percent (4-of-9) from the free throw line.

The Bluejays will return to action on Wednesday (January 29, 2020) when they host Augustana College at 7:00 P.M.
