ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team slipped to 5-9 on the season after falling 9-0 to North Central College.
Elmhurst slipped to 1-3 in the CCIW while North Central improved to 16-4 overall and 4-1 in league play
In doubles play, North Central's Victor Krueger and Andy Hinch defeated
David Demoll and
Shawn Sabaricos at No. 1 8-2. Tyler Bussell and Tyler Haizel combined for an 8-5 win over Elmhurst's
Grant O'Connell and
Lance Maharry at No. 2. Justin Howes and Lucas Pindak downed
Chris Wallace and
Tavious Imperial 8-0 at No. 3.Â
In singles action, Krueger defeated Demoll 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 while Bussell followed with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Sabaricos at No. 2. Haizel dispatched O'Connell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 while Hinch defeated Maharry 6-2, 6-0 at No.4. Howes upended Wallaced 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 and Pindak defeated Imperial 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.Â
Elmhurst hosts Carthage College on April 24.Â
