ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team slipped to 1-2 in the CCIW following a 9-0 loss to Wheaton College.
Elmhurst moved to 5-8 overall while Wheaton improve to 8-8 overall and 4-0 in league play.
Wheaton's duo of Josh Cheng and Christopher Jones downed Elmhurst's
David Demoll and
Shawn Sabaricos 8-1 at No. 1 doubles while Anderson Park and Alexander Winters toppled the Bluejays' paid of
Grant O'Connell and
Lance Maharry 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Jacob Panjwani and Jack Guenther defeated Chris Wallce and
Tavious Imperial 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Park stopped Demoll 6-0, 6-0 at No.1 while Cheng followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sbaricos at No. 2. Panjwani toppled O'Connell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 while Winters toppled Maharry 6-4 ,6-2 at No. 4 singles. At No. Jones downed Wallace 6-2, 6-4 while Guenther blanked Imperial 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.Â
