ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Carroll University. The Bluejays fell 4-0 in game one and 4-1 in game two.

Elmhurst fell to 7-16 overall and 1-7 in the CCIW while Carroll upped its record to 19-10 overall and 6-2 in league play.

CARROLL 4, ELMHURST 0 (Game One) – Carroll limited Elmhurst to only five hits as the Pioneers took game one 4-0.

Carroll scored two unearned runs in the first and added a run in the second on a solo homer from Veronica Rodriguez. Rodriquez added a run-scoring double in the sixth for the Pioneers final run.

Elmhurst had chances to score multiple times, but the Bluejays left 10 runners on base and finished 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
Val Perrelli recorded two of Elmhurst's five hits in the loss.

Amanda Osterhus recorded her 10th win of the season for Carroll, working five innings and allowing four hits. She struck out two while not issuing a walk. Kaylee Learman pitched the final two innings for the Pioneers.
Baille Krantz made the start and took the loss for Elmhurst, working all seven innings and allowing just two earned runs. She scattered seven hits while striking out three.

CARROLL 4, ELMHURST 1 (Game Two) – Carroll scored a 4-1 win in game two to complete the doubleheader sweep.
Elmhurst grabbed an early lead on
Mia Tran's RBI double in the fourth inning, but Carrol responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. The Pioneer added a run on a Rosalie Jrolf double in the fifth. The Pioneers added an insurance run in the sixth to come away with the three-run win.

Tran led Elmhurst with two hits in the loss.

Sydni Gizynski made the start and took the loss for Elmhurst, surrendering five hits and three runs in five innings of work. Lexi Keminitzer earned the win for Carroll, tossing a complete game and allowing six hits and one run. She walked one and struck out three.

Elmhurst plays at St. Mary's College on Sunday, April 14.
