HANOVER PARK, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis upped its record to 4-5 on the season with an 8-0 win over Dominican University at Centre Courts.
Elmhurst swept all three doubles matches and won all five singles matches that were completed.
David Demoll and
Shawn Sabaricos stopped Alexaner Tobias and Antonio Morales 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Grant O'Connell and
Lance Maharry followed with an 8-2 win over Brandon Pineda and Joshua Sapnu at No. 2.
Chris Wallace and
Tavious Imperial combined for an 8-7 win over Dominican's Eric Sigaran and Samuel Pardinas at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Demoll rolled past Tobias 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 while Sabaricos made short work of Morales 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. O'Connelll used three sets (7-6, 3-6, 11-9) to defeat Pineda at No. 3 singles. Maharry defeated Sapnu 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 while Wallace cruised past Sigaran 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5. The No. 6 singles match was not finished due to time constraints.
Elmhurst plays at Millikin University on Friday, April 12.
