COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Elmhurst men's lacrosse team fell behind early and never recovered, dropping a 20-5 road game at Colorado College.
Colorado (6-2) scored the first 11 goals of the contest, including all nine goals in the opening quarter, to race out to a commanding lead. Elmhurst (2-3) cracked the scoreboard midway through the second when
Cullen Nordeman scored off a
Marcus Yandall assist on a man-up advantage. The Tigers added back-to-back goals to carry a 13-1 lead into halftime.
Mac Harden and
Luke McAdams tallied two goals apiece for the Bluejays in the second half as the Tigers pulled away for the 15-goal victory.
Colorado outshot Elmhurst 65-28 in the contest and also enjoyed a 38-19 edge in ground balls.
Harden, McAdams and Nordeman tallied two points apiece for the Bluejays in the loss. Harden and McAdams finished two goals each while Nordeman totaled a goal and an assist. Noah Bacofen made the start in goal and took the loss, allowing nine goals while recording three saves in nearly 15 minutes of action.
Jake Delgado played the next 35 minutes, allowing nine goals while recording 12 saves.
Boe Gold led the Tigers' offense with three goals apiece. John Sutro, Billy Hutchison, Max Rieser, Elliot Nelson, Tyler Borko and Tom Haller netted two goals apiece for the Tigers. Andrew Harwood picked up the win in goal with 10 saves in 47 minutes of action.
Elmhurst plays at Whittier College on March 23.
