KENOSHA, Wis. – A late goal from James Serrano propelled the Elmhurst men's soccer team to a 1-0 shutout win over Carthage College.

The Details:

• For 86 minutes the game was locked at a 0-0 tie. Elmhurst outshot Carthage 7-6 in the opening half, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.
• Elmhurst broke through in the 87th minute. Keegan Thompson sent a cross into the box that Serrano headed home to put Elmhurst on the scoreboard 1-0.
• The Bluejays made the lead stand up for the final 3:44 of play to earn the 1-0 victory.
• Elmhurst outshot Carthage 13-12 in the victory.
• Donnie Kvien recorded five saves to notch his seventh shutout of the season in goal.
• The win kept Elmhurst perfect in the CCIW at 2-0. It also marked the Bluejays' fourth win over the past five games.
