NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Eleven different players registered points as the Elmhurst women's basketball team cruised to a 75-59 road win over North Central College.

Elmhurst upped its record to 6-8 overall and 2-3 in the CCIW with the victory while North Central slid to 3-12 overall and 1-5 in league play.

North Central scored the game's first four points, but Elmhurst quickly took over, scoring the next nine points to open up a five-point cushion. The Bluejays would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the contest. Elmhurst led 17-13 after the first quarter. The Cardinals cut the Bluejays' lead in half at the start of the second quarter, but Elmhurst quickly put some space between the two squads. A 7-0 Elmhurst run put the Bluejays up by nine early in the quarter. Leading 28-19 with six minutes left, the Bluejays closed the half on an 11-1 run to open up a commanding 19-point cushion (39-20) at the half.

North Central trimmed the Bluejays' lead down to 16 points after three quarters and the Cardinals came as close as seven points with five minutes remaining, but the Bluejays finished the game on a 17-8 run to pull away for the 16-point win.

Elmhurst shot 38.7 percent (24-of-62) from the floor, including 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from three-point distance. Elmhurst turned 14 North Central turnovers into 20 points. North Central struggled with its shooting, hitting just 38.3 percent (23-of-60) from the floor, 10.0 percent (2-of-20) from beyond the arc and 39.3 percent (11-of-28) from the foul line.

Kellee Clay paced a balanced Elmhurst attack in the victory, finishing with a team-best 15 points to go along with five rebounds.
Lisa Logan added 13 points while
Kelly Weyhrich and
Julia Madrid tacked on eight points apiece.
Lauren Goff and
Courtney O'Donnell chipped in with seven points apiece for Elmhurst.

Alanna Newsome led North Central with 20 points while Natali Dimitrova scored 15 and Tyonne Howard added nine. Lyndsay Brennan pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for the Cardinals.
