ELMHURST, Ill. - Goals from
Brittany Reinhart and
Kennedy Irmen propelled the Elmhurst women's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout victory over Concordia University (Wis.).
Elmhurst ran its record to 3-0 on the season while Concordia fell to 0-3 overall.
The Bluejays needed little time to jump on the scoreboard. Reinhart bounced a free kick through the box and into the back of the net to give Elmhurst a 1-0 lead just over three minutes into the contest.
Elmhurst made it 2-0 in the 58th minute when Irmen scored her first goal of the season. Reinhart launched a corner kick through the box that was headed into the air by a Concordia defender. Reinhart headed the ball home to double the Bluejays' lead to 2-0.
Elmhurst outshot Concordia 13-6 in the contest.
The Bluejays host Aurora University on Tuesday, September 11.
