Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team outshot Aurora 35-7, but the Bluejays were unable to crack the scoreboard, settling for a 0-0 double overtime tie against the Spartans.
Elmhurst (3-0-1) brought pressure throughout the game, outshooting the Aurora (1-3-1) 14-2 in the opening half. The Bluejays thought they had scored late in the first half when Heather Hoffman's shot trickled along the goal line, caught the inside of the post and bounced out, but the officials ruled the ball did not cross the goal line before bouncing out.
Elmhurst continued the pressure in the second half, outshooting Aurora 14-3. The Bluejays owned a 7-2 edge in shots in the two overtime periods as well.
Elmhurst enjoyed a 9-2 edge in corner kicks in the contest.
Sophia Tuliglowski recorded her third straight shutout of the season in goal for Elmhurst, recording four saves in 110 minutes. Anessa Munoz picked up the tie for the Spartans, recording 13 saves while keeping the Bluejays off the scoreboard.
Elmhurst travels to Olivet College on Friday, September 14.
