ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team evened its CCIW record at 1-1 by edging Carthage College 1-0 at Langhorst Field.
MJ Lessila scored off an assist from
Sidney O'Keeffe in the 22nd minute to account for the game's only goal.
The Bluejays' defense made the one-goal lead hold up for the next 69 minutes as Carthage (5-3-2, 0-1-1 CCIW) outshot Elmhurst 16-4 in the contest, including a 9-1 edge in the second half. The Lady Reds also held a 7-0 edge in corner kicks, but the Bluejays turned away all of Carthage's scoring chances.
Sophia Tuliglowski totaled 11 saves in goal for the Bluejays while notching the shutout.
Elmhurst upped its record to 6-2-1 overall and travels to Millikin University next Saturday, October 6.
