WHEATON, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's soccer team suffered a 4-1 loss at Wheaton College in the Bluejays' CCIW-opener.

Elmhurst (5-2-1, 0-1-0 CCIW) struck first, scoring just 5:34 into the contest on a 20-yard blast from
MJ Lessila.

The Bluejays' lead held up for the next 35 minutes before Wheaton pulled even at 1-1 just before the half on a Sara Bahke goal. Bahke netted her second goal of the game off a Bailey Wolf assist four minutes into the second half to putting the Thunder up 2-1 in the process.

Aeva Graber scored in the 57th minute and Carney Blake added a goal in the 70th minute to lift Wheaton (6-2-1, 1-0-0 CCIW) to the victory.
Wheaton outshot Elmhurst 25-4 in the contest.

Sophia Tuliglowski took the loss in goal despite recording nine saves for the Bluejays.
Bryce Marchetti played the final 13 minutes in net and did not face a shot on goal.

Elmhurst hosts Carthage College next Saturday, September 29.
