ELMHURST, Ill - The Elmhurst women's soccer team upped its record to 5-0-1 on the season by cruising to a 6-0 win over MacMurray College at Langhorst Field.
Elmhurst scored three times in the opening half and added three goals in the second to pull away for the victory.
Jami Lessila got the scoring started, netting a goal off a
Brittany Reinhart assist in the 13th minute.
Ana Koruna added back-to-back goals just five minutes apart to extend the Bluejays' lead to three. Koruna knocked hom her own rebound in the 28th minute and then scored off an assist from Lessila in the 33rd minute.
Second half goals from
Sidney O'Keeffe,
Yasmin Chavez and
MJ Lessila helped the Bluejays coast to the six-goal victory.
O'Keeffe and
Megan Mrazek finished with two assists apiece while Chavez added a second-half assist for the Bluejays.
Elmhurst outshot MacMurray 39-0 in the contest and held a 12-0 edge in corner kicks.
Sophia Tuliglowski and
Bryce Marchetti combined for the shutout in goal for Elmhurst. Neither keeper had to record a save in the victory.
Elmhurst travels to Hope College on September 18.
