WHEATON, Ill. – Â
Jacob McMillan drove in three runs to lead the Elmhurst baseball team to a 7-3 road win at Wheaton College.
Elmhurst upped its record to 21-16 overall and 10-11 in the CCIW with the win. The Bluejays remained a half-game behind North Park for the fourth and final spot for the CCIW Tournament after North Park edged North Central in extra innings earlier in the day.

Elmhurst grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. With runners on the corners,
Jacob McMillan stole second and the throw was offline, allowing
Reagan McReynolds to score from third. Wheaton pulled even with a run in the bottom of the first, but Elmhurst reclaimed the lead in the third on a sacrifice fly from McMillan.

McReynolds cracked a solo homer with one out in the fifth to extend Elmhurst's lead to 3-1. A three-run sixth inning pushed the Bluejays' up to five.
Trevor Horwath's RBI single started the scoring in the sixth and McMillan roped a two-out, two-run single, extending Elmhurst's lead to 6-1 in the process. Wheaton scored a run in the sixth to trim Elmhurst's lead down to four, but
Christian Ott singled home a run in the ninth to pad Elmhurst's lead to 7-2. A solo homer for the Thunder in the bottom of the ninth made the final score 7-3 in favor of the Bluejays.
McMillan drove in three for the Bluejays while McReynolds collected two hits and scored three runs.
Trey Compton led the Bluejays at the plate with three hits.
Austin MacMillan made the start for the Bluejays on the mound and picked up the win, improving to 5-2 in the process. MacMillan worked seven innings and allowed just seven hits and one earned run. He walked one and fanned two.
Alex Kielion finished up in relief, working the final two innings and allowing just one run while striking out two.

Elmhurst closes out its regular season by hosting Wheaton in a doubleheader tomorrow (May 5) at 2:00 p.m.
