CLERMONT, Fla. – The Elmhurst softball team slipped to 3-3 on the season after dropping a pair of games at the PFX Games in Florida.

Elmhurst dropped its opening game of the day 5-0 to Wesleyan before falling 7-2 to Hendrix College in the nightcap.

WESLEYAN 5, ELMHURST 0 – Elmhurst slipped to 3-2 on the year following a 5-0 shutout loss to Wesleyan College.

Elmhurst's bats were held in check by Wesleyan's Danielle Rinaldi. Rinaldi limited the Bluejays to just five hits while not issuing a walk. She also struck out 10 in the victory.

Wesleyan broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning on a two-run, inside the park home run from Rachel Curra. Wesleyan tacked on a run in the fifth and added two runs in the sixth to pull away for the five-run victory.

Veronica Zahn led the Bluejays at the plate in the loss, finishing 3-for-3 and totaling three of Elmhurst's five hits.

Bailee Krantz took the loss for Elmhurst, working four innings and allowing six hits and two earned runs.

HENDRIX 7, ELMHURST 2 – Elmhurst evened its record at 3-3 after suffering a 7-2 loss to Hendrix. The Bluejays were done in by six errors

Hendix jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead with a run in the first and three in the second. The Bluejays scored a run in the fifth on a
Tara Cannella sacrifice fly, but Wesleyan answered back with two in the bottom of the frame to pull away for the five-run victory.

Zahn continued her hot hitting for Elmhurst, finishing 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. Faith Thompson added two hits for the Bluejays in the loss.

Emily Despain took the loss for Elmhurst, working four innings and allowing five hits and four runs (one earned). She walked one and struck out one.

Elmhurst takes on Southern Maine and Manchester on March 19.
