NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Elmhurst wrestling team ran its dual record to 4-2 on the season by posting a 3-2 record at the Gator Boots Duals.
 
Elmhurst scored wins over Simpson and Huntingdon before falling to Manchester and Luther. The Bluejays closed the day with a win over Wilmington.
 
ELMHURST 37, SIMPSON 12 – Elmhurst opened the day with a convincing 37-12 win over Simpson. With a forfeit win at 149 pounds under their belt, the Bluejays won six of the nine contests wrestled en route to the win.
 
Zach McCullough scored a 10-1 major decision over Jason Padilla at 133 pounds and Andre Neal followed with a 9-5 win over Jacob Irwin at 141 pounds. The remaining four wins all came by pin for the Bluejays. Justin Hames pinned Dylan McChesney in 2:38 at 125 pounds. Kenone Derain needed just 35 seconds to pink Blake Bauer at 165 pounds while Nevin Brittan pinned Damon Piatt in two minutes at 174 pounds. Mark Miller added the final win for Elmhurst with a second-round pin of Kobey Bosworth (4:25) at 184 pounds.

McCullough started the scoring for Elmhurst by pinning Jacob Smith in 3:40 at 133 pounds. Neal earned a 3-2 win over Mason Blakeney at 141 pounds while Derain scored a 17-1 technical fall over Pierce Erhardt at 157. Howie Olson picked up an 11-2 major decision at 165 pounds while Brittain downed Wyatt Miller 6-5 at 174 pounds. Dominic Gallo pinned Jimmy Haynes in 2:23 at 197 pounds while Zach Dixon scored a first-round fall over James Lucas at 285 pounds.

Elmhurst finished with four victories in the loss. McCullough downed Skyler Gomez 7-2 at 133 pounds. Derain finished with an 8-0 major decision over Joel Amey at 157 while Miller scored a 15-0 technical fall over Shane Stits at 184 pounds. Gallos recorded Elmhurst's final win of the day at 197 pounds, defeating Wilson Lopshire by 9-0 major decision.
