Lisa Logan recorded the first double-double of her career to help the Elmhurst College women's basketball team hold off Millikin University 55-53 for the Bluejays' fourth consecutive CCIW victory.

Elmhurst upped its record to 11-8 overall and 7-3 in the CCIW with the win while Millikin slid to 5-14 overall and remained winless in the CCIW after moving to 0-10.

The two squads traded buckets and leads for much of the first quarter before Millikin closed the final 3:30 on a 7-2 run to carry a 14-11 lead into the second quarter.

With leading scorer
Mikaela Eppard on the bench for the entire second quarter with foul trouble, Elmhurst outscored the Big Blue 15-6 in the second quarter. Trailing by five with 7:30 left in the half, the Bluejays closed the half with a 13-2 run to grab a 26-20 lead at halftime. Logan paced the Bluejays in the opening 20 minutes, tallying eight points and six rebounds.

Eppard started strong in the third quarter, scoring the first eight points for the Bluejays before picking up her third and fourth fouls late in the quarter. The Bluejays were able to push their lead up to 10 points with just two minutes remaining in the quarter, but Millikin closed the last two minutes on a 6-2 run to pull to within six points after three.

Elmhurst led by as many as eight points in the fourth quarter and led 55-49 with just over five minutes remaining. The Bluejays struggled on offense for the final five minutes as Elmhurst turned the ball over times helping Millikin close to within two points with 2:27 left on the clock. Millikin had chances to tie the game but the Big Blue missed a jumper and turned the ball over twice in their final three possessions, including a turnover with just six seconds to play. Elmhurst was able to run out the clock to preserve the two-point win.

Elmhurst came away with the victory despite shooting just 36.2 percent (21-of-58) from the floor. The Bluejays were ice cold from downtown, hitting just 1-of-12 attempts from three-point distance (8.3 percent). The Bluejays made the most off of 23 Millikin turnovers, converting the giveaways into 16 points. With foul trouble and an injury limiting a pair of Elmhurst starters, Logan registered a season-high 16 points while collecting the first double-double of her career with a career-best 10 rebounds. Logan shot 6-of-11 from the floor while also registering an assist and a steal. Eppard finished with 12 points and six rebounds for Elmhurst while
Jasmin Bailey totaled nine points and five boards.
Kaela Jones scored six while
Kelly Weyhrich led the squad in assists with four.

Millikin finished the contest shooting 22-of-54 from the floor (40.7 percent), including 37.5 percent (3-of-8) from downtown. Emily Schultz led Millikin with 12 points while Haley Toohill scored 10.

Elmhurst travels to Wheaton College on Saturday, February 3.
