ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team dropped its conference-opener, falling 2-0 at Augustana College.
Elmhurst slipped to 5-2 on the season (0-1 CCIW) after suffering their first shutout loss of the season.
Augustana (4-4, 1-0 CCIW) jumped on the scoreboard first, scoring on an Andria Serra goal in the 18th minute. Jenna Dvorak tacked on an insurance goal in the 51st minute to lead the Vikings to the two-goal victory.
Elmhurst outshot Augustana 11-9 in the contest and held an 8-4 lead in shots on goal, but the Bluejays could not crack Augustana's defense. Elmhurst also held a 10-4 edge in corner kicks.
Sophia Tuliglowski took the loss in net for Elmhurst, allowing two goals while recording two saves. Bailey Bradford stopped all eight shots she faced to earn the win for Augustana.Â
