ELMHURST, Ill. – Augustana hit two three pointers in the final 30 seconds to stun the Elmhurst women's basketball team 66-63 at R.A. Faganel Hall.

Elmhurst erased an 11-point halftime deficit to build a lead late in the contest, before the Vikings came away with the dramatic win. Elmhurst dropped to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the CCIW with the loss while Augustana improved to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the CCIW.
Elmhurst fell behind in the opening half as Augustana cashed in on six Elmhurst turnovers to score nine points. The Vikings outscored Elmhurst 18-8 in the paint while building a 23-12 lead after the first quarter. The Bluejays used a 6-0 run midway through the second quarter to slice the Vikings' deficit down to just five points with 3:30 left in the half. Augustana responded by closing the half on an 8-2 run to push its lead back to 11 points (36-25) at the half.

The Bluejays came out firing in the second half, using a 10-0 run fueled by a pair of
Jasmin Bailey three-pointers to cut the deficit to just one point. Augustana pushed its lead back to three points on an Izzy Anderson layup, but the Bluejays scored six straight to close the third quarter and built a 47-44 lead.

Augustana managed to pull even five times in the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter, but the Bluejays knocked down four three-pointers to stay in front. Bailey's six three-pointer of the contest gave Elmhurst a 61-60 lead with just 1:41 remaining.
Kelly Weyhrich knocked down to free throws with 35 seconds left to extend Elmhurst's lead to three points at 63-60. Anderson splashed home the game-tying three-pointer with just under 30 seconds to play. After an Elmhurst miss with 20 seconds, the Vikings ran the clock down before Clare Kramer hit an off-balanced three-pointer with just 0.3 seconds left on the clock to give Augustana the win.

Elmhurst shot 35.8 percent from the floor in the contest, hitting 24-of-67 shots. The Bluejays took 30 three-pointers in the contest, hitting seven (23.3 percent). After being outrebounded by nine early in the third quarter, the Bluejays finished the contest with a 45-41 edge on the glass.

Bailey led Elmhurst and all scorers, coming off the bench to score 22 points, knocking down six three-pointers in the process. The six three-pointers is the second-highest single-game total in Elmhurst history.
Mikaela Eppard and
Kaela Jones both recorded double-doubles in the loss. Eppard totaled 15 points and 12 rebounds while Jones finished with 10 points and 12 boards.
Hannah Henderson added six points and four rebounds for Elmhurst.

Augustana shot 37.9 percent (25-of-66) in the contest, including 35.7 percent (5-of-14) from three-point distance. Anderson pumped in 18 points while Victoria Allen added a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Justice Edell (11 points) and Kramer (10 points) came off the bench to combine for 21 points.
