ELMHURST, Ill. – Four players scored in double-figures to lead an efficient Elmhurst offense in an 86-59 victory over Carleton College in women's basketball action at R.A. Faganel Hall.

Mikaela Eppard led the Bluejays (5-5) with 28 points and 12 rebounds.
Kaela Jones also posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
Hannah Henderson (13 points, five assists) and
Jasmin Bailey (11 points) were other top contributors for an Elmhurst offense that shot 55 percent from the floor and assisted on 20 of its 34 made baskets.

The Bluejays took the lead for good in the first quarter. With the game tied at 11, Elmhurst went on a 10-5 run to close the quarter and led 21-16 after 10 minutes.

After Carleton (5-5) pulled within one early in the second period, the Bluejays took over.
Hannah Henderson and
Lisa Logan combined to score all eight points of an 8-0 run that gave Elmhurst its first double-digit margin of the contest at 35-24. Henderson and Eppard continued to push the Bluejays further ahead through the remainder of the half, giving the hosts a 46-29 advantage at the break.

Eppard recorded 16 points and eight rebounds in the first 20 minutes, while Henderson added 13 points and five assists.

Elmhurst quickly extended a 20-point lead in the third quarter and never looked back. In the end, 10 Bluejays contributed with at least two points in the 86-59 victory. Â

Not to be outdone, the Bluejay defense held the Knights to just 36 percent from the floor and 4 of 16 from three-point range. Elmhurst outscored Carleton 46-24 in the paint and 12-2 on second-chance points.

Samantha Cooke and Cece Leone led the Carleton offense with 11 and 10 points respectively.
