ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's basketball team improved to 6-5 on the season after cruising past Aurora University 76-57 in a non-conference contest.
 
Elmhurst led from start to finish, scoring the game's first bucket and never trailing for the final 39:07. The Bluejays led 20-13 after the first quarter before outscoring the Spartans 18-8 in the second to take a 38-21 lead at the half.
 
The Bluejays extended their lead to 25 points midway through the third quarter before Aurora (3-5) rattle off 12 straight points to cut the deficit down to 13 points. Elmhurst led by 14 after three quarters and scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to push their lead back to 21 points before coasting to the 19-point win.
 
Elmhurst shot 45.2 percnet (28-of-62) from the floor, including 34.8 percent (8-of-23) from downtown. The Bluejays dominated the game inside, outscoring the Spartans 36-12 in the paint and outrebounding Aurora 47-34. 
Mikaela Eppard finished with a game-high double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead Elmhurst. 
Lisa Logan added 14 points and five assists while 
Jasmin Bailey came off the bench to score 12. 
Hannah Henderson added nine points and eight assists.
 
Aurora shot 31.0 percent (18-of-58) from the floor, including 27.8 percent (5-of-18) from three-point distance. Meija Rabi scored 16 to lead Aurora while Julie Galauner added 12. Bri Hall came off the bench to total a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Elmhurst hosts Loras College on December 30.
