NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
Sidney O'Keeffe scored in the 20th minute of action to lead the Elmhurst women's soccer team to a 1-0 shutout win over North Central.
Elmhurst upped its record to 7-2 with the victory and climbed to 2-1 in the CCIW standings.
The Bluejays controlled the action for nearly all of the first half, outshooting North Central 6-1 and putting all six shots on net. O'Keeffe broke the scoreless tie in the 20th minute of play with her fifth goal of the season.
North Central (5-5-1, 1-1 CCIW) generated more chances in the second half registering five shots and putting four shots on goal, but Elmhurst's defense turned the Cardinals away for the final 45.
Sophia Tuliglowski stopped all four shots she faced to record her third shutout of the season in goal.
Elmhurst finished the contest outshooting North Central 12-6.
The Bluejays travel to Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, October 7.
