CHICAGO, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's basketball team won its fourth straight contest, overcoming a halftime deficit to defeat North Park 70-54.

The Bluejays improved to 12-3 overall and 4-2 in the CCIW with the victory.
Elmhurst trailed by as many as nine points in the second quarter after a sluggish start. The Bluejays cut the deficit down to four points at halftime (31-27) before quickly surging in front early in the third quarter. Elmhurst started the half on an 8-2 run to take a 35-33 lead. North Park (8-8, 1-6 CCIW) pulled even at 35-all, but the Bluejays responded with a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to open up a 45-35 cushion. North Park cut the deficit down to six at the end of the third quarter and came as close as five points midway through the fourth, but Elmhurst closed the game on a 22-6 run to pull away for the 16-point victory.

Elmhurst shot 44.2 percent (23-of-52) from the floor in the victory and outscored North Park 40-29 in the paint. The Bluejays also won the rebounding battle 40-30.
Hannah Lipman led the way for Elmhurst, scoring a season-high 19 points while adding six rebounds.
Kaela Jones and
Mikaela Eppard added 12 points apiece for the Bluejays. Eppard finished with nine rebounds, one shy of a double-double.
Hannah Henderson came off the bench to score seven while
Erika Johnson tallied six points for the Bluejays.

North Park finished the contest shooting 38.2 percent (21-of-55) from the floor, including 50.0 percent (5-of-10) from downtown. Liz Rehberger led the Vikings with 14 points while Clarissa Ramos totaled 11 points and six rebounds. Brie Lippert added 10 points and seven boards for the Vikings in the loss.

Elmhurst looks for its fifth straight victory on Wednesday, January 18, when the Bluejays travel to Carroll University.
