ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's tennis team slipped to 2-3 in the CCIW following a 9-0 loss at Wheaton College.

Wheaton (7-1, 4-0 CCIW) swept all six singles matches and the three doubles contests en route to the victory.

Elmhurst's duo of Ava Kolman and Rachel Rettger battled Wheaton's top duo of Katie Park and Emily Jones before falling 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. Wheaton's Sara Magnuson and Miranda Kay blanked Elmhurst's Chiara Gaudio and Dacey Maglaque 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. The Thunder's Kate Booker and Kristie White defeated Hannah Vaselaney and Kathryn Wheeler 8-1 at No. 3 singles.

In singles play, Park toppled Kolman 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles while Jones downed Gaudio 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2. Kay blanked Rettger 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles while White defeated Tori Liewergen 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Magnuson shut out Vaselaney 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles while Emma Westwick closed out singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Wheeler at No. 6 singles.

Elmhurst (2-4) plays at Lake Forest College on September 25.
