WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's soccer team fell to 7-7-3 overall after dropping a key 1-0 CCIW contest at Carroll University.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 2-4-1 overall with just one game remaining on the team's schedule. Carroll moved to 6-9-1 overall and 2-4 in the CCIW with the win.
The game was scoreless for over 89 minutes of play, but Carroll's Tyler Coenen connected off a Caden Pruitt assist with just 22 seconds remaining on the clock to lift Carroll to the win.
Carroll outshot Elmhurst 9-5 in the contest and had a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Nick King suffered the loss in goal for Elmhurst despite allowing just one goal and recording three saves. Nick Drew earned the win for Carroll, stopping one shot to earn the shutout.
Elmhurst closes out the season next Saturday by traveling to North Park University.
