ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's soccer team fell to Carthage 2-0 in their home finale.

The Lady Reds (9-5, 3-2 CCIW) took the lead early on a goal in the seventh minute. Taylor Stenmark sent a free kick from the far side and Kayla McGuinness headed in her third of the year. The Lady Reds took a 2-0 lead in the 43rd minute. Joanne Stanfa played a line drive corner that Lauren Szumski drilled into the left upper 90 from 20 yards out.

Elmhurst (8-6, 1-5 CCIW) upped its offensive pressure late in the second half and put together a couple of quality chances.
Brittany Reinhart drilled a long free kick from 40 yards out that Carthage's keeper Emily Furmanek had to tip over the bar. In the final three minutes, it looked like Elmhurst pulled within one, but an offsides call negated a goal.
