MEQUON, Wis. - The Elmhurst wrestling team upped its dual meet record to 4-2 after cruising past Concordia University (Wis.) 35-3. 

Elmhurst won eight of the nine matches wrestled en route to the 32-point victory. 

Starting at 165 pounds, Keone Derain upended Quentin Lueck 3-1 to give the Bluejays a quick 3-0 lead. Mitch Morris followed at 174 pounds and defeated Mason Mergener 5-2. Mergener was an NCAA national qualifier in 2015. Concordia scored its only points of the dual at 184 pounds when Mitchell Slatton downed Bobby Schillinger 2-0 on an escape and riding time. 

The Bluejays won the next six matches to close out the dual, starting with Colton Kelly making short work of Mason Baumgartner at 197 pounds. Kelly pinned Baumgartner in just 1:02 to give Elmhurst a 12-3 lead in the dual. Zack Urbanski scored the second straight pin for the Bluejays at 285 pounds. Urbanski dispatched Sam Olsen 35 seconds into the second period to give Elmhurst an 18-3 avantage. 

Anthony Munoz earned an 8-3 decision over Kameron Bourgeois at 125 pounds before a double forfeit at 133 pounds. Jimmy Nehls gave Elmhurst a 27-3 after a win at 141 pounds. Nehls, ranked third in the latest NWCA Division III poll, pinned Joshua Curcio 1:33 into the second period. Top-ranked Blake Santi remained undefeated on the season by shutting out Ben Reagan at 149 pounds. Santi used multiple near falls to gain a 14-0 lead after the first period. An escape to start the second period gave Santi a 15-0 win by technical fall. Tim Noverini closed out the dual with an 8-4 victory over Pierce Holtfreter at 165 pounds. 

The Bluejays host the Al Hanke Invitational next Saturday, January 16.
