With the game tied at 50 just a minute-and-a-half into the final period, Kaela Jones scored the next four points of the game. The teams went cold for three minutes, before Jones hit a three-pointer to put the Bluejays up five. Millikin (7-13, 0-9 CCIW) kept the game close, but, with 2:07 to play, Elmhurst (12-8, 6-3 CCIW) extended a seven-point lead with Michaela Kumer's three-point play. After a pair of defensive stops, Katie Swanson and Mikaela Eppard combined to knock down 5-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal the win and a sweep of the Big Blue.

After the teams traded buckets early in the first quarter, Millikin pulled ahead with seven straight points, including four in a row from Kelly Skorczewski. An Eppard layup pulled Elmhurst within seven (18-11) after one quarter.

The Bluejays pulled even at 19 by scoring eight of the first nine second-quarter points, highlighted by an Eppard three-point play that sent Elmhurst ahead by one with the free throw. Over the next minute, the teams combined to score on seven straight possessions, tying the score at 27. Millikin turned a one-point deficit into a six-point lead with a 7-0 run, but Elmhurst pulled even at halftime (36-36) with a Kaela Jones layup at the buzzer.

Neither team led by more than four in the third quarter, as the teams traded blows and two late free throws from Swanson put the Bluejays ahead by one. Millikin took a one-point advantage with a bucket early in the fourth, but did not lead the rest of the way as Elmhurst's fourth quarter led the Bluejays to a sweep of the Big Blue.

Jones tied her career-high with a game-high 20 points. Eppard added a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Hannah Henderson added seven points and 10 rebounds (eight offensive), while Swanson finished with nine points, six of them coming at the free-throw line.

Elmhurst shot just 35-percent from the floor and 27-percent from downtown, but outscored Millikin by 14 at the free-throw line (22-8). The Bluejays also controlled the rebounding battle 44-31.

Millikin's Emily Schultz (12) and Alyssa Saklak (10) both reached double figures to lead a balanced attack of nine scorers. Millikin won the turnover battle (16-15) and shot 46-percent from the field.

The Bluejays look to extend their winning streak to three, and earn a key conference split, when they travels to Carthage on Wednesday, February 3. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
