ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to St. Catherine University.
After a scoreless first half, the Bluejays (4-2-1) took the lead 1-0 before the Wildcats (4-2-1, 1-1 MIAC) scored two unanswered goals.

Kat Waugh put the Bluejays ahead with her second goal of the season.
Megan Hart started the opportunity by finding
Brittany Reinhart in the middle of the field. Reinhart took a touch and then threaded a pass in between two defenders and right to Waugh, who knocked a line drive shot to the far post.
St. Catherine pulled even in the 72nd minute. From 20 yards out, Allie Boucher curled a free kick over
Melinda Vickers and just under the crossbar.
In the 83rd minute, the Wildcats took the lead on another set piece. Elly Leyva sent a corner kick across frame and Ellen Kokes redirected it home.
Elmhurst had two very good chances late, including a shot from
Anna Garritano and one ball that ran across the face of goal, but did not find the net.
Elmhurst and St. Catherine both had 11 shots and four shots on goal. Danielle Mendez picked up the win, stopping three shots, while Elmhurst's
Melinda Vickers made two saves.
Elmhurst looks to bounce back when they host MSOE on Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m.
