The Cardinals (1-1, 1-0 CCIW) swept doubles and took the first five singles matches over the Bluejays (5-1, 3-1 CCIW), before
Ava Kolman registered the lone Elmhurst point in three sets.
North Central found the board first when Karissa Schroeder and Marisa Coladipietro took the No. 3 doubles match over
Camille Knapik-Balch and
Katelyn LoRusso 8-0. The Cardinals completed the sweep with a pair of 8-3 victories. At No. 2, Katie Drone and Miranda Grizaffi defeated
Hannah Vaselaney and
Chiara Gaudio and, at the top spot, Kelsey Forkin and Clare O'Connor beat
Rachel Rettger and Kolman.
North Central clinched the match with wins from Forkin (6-4, 6-0 over Rettger at No. 3) and Schroeder (6-1, 6-2 over Knapik-Balch at No. 6). O'Connor extended the Cardinals' advantage with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Vaselaney. Coladipietro won next for North Central, defeating
Tori Liewergen 6-1, 6-3. The teams split the final two matches as Grizzafi defeated Gaudio 6-4, 6-0 and Kolman stayed undefeated in singles play, giving Elmhurst a point with a 6-7(8), 6-2, 10-7 victory over Drone.
