ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team opened up the home portion of its 2015 schedule by playing to a 3-3 draw with Greenville College.

The Bluejays and Panthers played to a high scoring first half as five of the eight shots went for goals. 
 

Emily Heimerdinger put the Bluejays in front in the fifth minute. Anna Garritano ran towards the middle and fired a shot that squirted away from Greenville keeper Hope Brakenhoff. Heimerdinger cleaned up the rebound for her second goal of the season. 
 

In the 16th minute, Garritano once again sparked a Bluejay attack. Her corner kick found the head of Brittany Reinhart, who buried her second goal of the season.

Later in the half, Greenville equalized with goals in the 24th and 29th minutes. Jen Brakenhoff headed a Dani Pearce corner toward goal and Tymber Gabbert finished. Then, Barbara Nirgo knocked in a left-footed shot off of a cross from Whitney Warner. 

Megan Hart put the Bluejays out on front again in the 43rd minute when she finished a cross from Kim Stanczak. 

Keiley Leach pulled the Panthers even with a one-touch shot to the far upper 90 in the 65th minute. Nigro tallied her third point of the game in feeding Leach on the equalizer. 

The Bluejays' best chances in overtime were both nullified by offsides calls. 

Elmhurst out shot Greenville 17-5. All three of Greenville's shots on goal found the net, while Greenville's Hope Brakenhoff stopped two Elmhurst shots. 

The Bluejays will host Benedictine Wednesday, Septebmer 16 as a part of their seven-game home swing.
