ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst softball team moved to 19-15 on the season after splitting a doubleheader with Millikin University. The Bluejays cruised to a 13-0 win in game one before dropping game two 3-2.
 
Elmhurst moved to 4-8 in the CCIW double and into a tie for fifth place in the CCIW Standings. Elmhurst and Carthage are tied for fifth with identical 4-8 records and trail Augustana (5-7 in the CCIW) by one game for the final spot in the CCIW Tournament. All three teams have two CCIW games remaining. 
ELMHURST 13, MILLIKIN 0 (Game One) – Elmhurst banged out 16 hits and 13 runs while 
Stephanie Sturino allowed just one hit from the circle.
 
Elmhurst scored in every inning, grabbing a 1-0 lead in the first on 
Alyssa Jasinski's RBI single. The Bluejays made it 2-0 in the second when 
Tiffany Potthast tripled home a run.
The Bluejays broke things open in the third inning, scoring five times on five hits.

Katie Boals and 
Mikayla Melone all drove in a run early in the inning and Potthast capped the five-run outburst with a two-run double to give Elmhurst a seven-run cushion.
Jasinski lifted a sacrifice fly in the fourth to stake Elmhurst to an 8-0 lead and the Bluejays tacked on five insurance runs in the top of the fifth.  A two-run double from 
Ele Walter and an RBI single from Jasinski helped spark the Bluejays' five-run fifth.
 
Walter finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and two driven in. Potthast collected two hits and drove in a team-leading four runs while Jasinski finished 2-for-2 with a run scored and two RBIs. Griffin, Boals and 
Crystal Marinelli each collected two hits in the victory.
 
Sturino kept Millikin at bay for the entire contest, allowing just one hit while recording the shutout. Sturino walked two and struck out two while improving to 5-2 on the season. Heather Doyle took the loss for Millikin, surrendering 10 hits and seven earned runs in three innings of work.
 
MILLIKIN 3, ELMHURST 2 –A two-run homer from Alexis Dockins helped Millikin earn the doubleheader split with a 3-2 victory.
Millikin (14-22, 3-9 CCIW) grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the second inning on an Amber Morgan RBI double.  Elmhurst answered back in the third as the Bluejays took advantage of a Big Blue error to plate a pair of unearned runs and grab a 2-1 lead.
 
The score remained 2-1 in favor of Elmhurst until the sixth when Dockins connected on a two-run homer to left to put Millikin back in front 3-2.
 
Elmhurst went down in order in the sixth and put the tying run on base with two outs in the seventh, but couldn't come up with the game-tying hit.
 
After slugging 16 hits in game one, the Bluejays managed just five in game two with Marinelli collecting two hits to lead Elmhurst in the loss.
 
Stefanie Sanidas suffered the loss in relief, falling to 3-3 on the season. She allowed two hits and two runs in four innings of work. Millikin's Kathy Lebryk earned the win, allowing just two unearned runs and five hits while tossing all seven innings for the Big Blue.
 
Elmhurst plays its final CCIW games of the season on Monday, April 27, when the team travels to Illinois Wesleyan University.Â
