AURORA, Ill. - Ben Havel recorded two hits and drove in two runs to lead the Elmhurst baseball team in a 10-3 loss at Aurora University.
Elmhurst slipped to 8-17 on the season with the loss while Aurora upped its record to 16-13 overall.
Aurora grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a Dillon Popovich RBI double and a Jeffrey Gersch RBI grounder. The Bluejays cut the lead in half in the fourth on inning on Havel's RBI single, but Aurora answered back with a two-run homer from Popovich in the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead.
Aurora cashed in on Elmhurst errors in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to score five unearned runs and extend their lead to eight. Elmhurst scored a pair of runs in the top of the eighth on an RBI double from Havel and a sacrifice fly from 
Greg Struck.
Havel finished with two hits, a run scored and two driven in to pace the Bluejays at the plate. 
Zach Tsiodras also finished with two hits while Struck and 
Brandon Kressner totaled one hit apiece.
Popovich powered Aurora at the dish, finishing 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Danny Walczak and 
Tanner Oymaian each,added three hits with two runs scored and an RBI.
Ryan Millan suffered the loss for Elmhurst, surrendering nine hits and five runs (four earned) in 5.2 innings of work. He walked one and struck out two in the loss.
Elmhurst hosts Dominican University on Wednesday, April 15, at 3:00 p.m.
