CLERMONT, Fla. - The Elmhurst softball team ran its winning streak to four games by scoring a pair of victories on its Florida road trip. The Bluejays opened the day with an 8-4 win over Buena Vista University before downing Union College (N.Y.) early in the afternoon.
Elmhurst improved to 8-2 overall with the pair of victories.
ELMHURST 8, BUENA VISTA 4 - Elmhurst overcame an early 3-2 deficit to win its third straight contest, an 8-4 victory over Buena Vista University.

Bella Masini to even the score at 3-3. Jasinski beat the throw home on a
Katie Boals' squeeze bunt, giving Elmhurst its first lead of the game. After back-to-back sacrifices bunts moved Boals to third,
Stephanie Hintz singled to drive in Boals and give Elmhurst a 5-3 lead.
The Bluejays took advantage of a Buena Vista error in the seventh to tack on three insurance runs. Hintz singled home a run and
Meg Griffin doubled home a pair to stake Elmhurst to an 8-3 lead.
Buena Vista pushed a run home in the bottom of the seventh to make the final score 8-4.
Griffin, Masini, Hintz and Jasinski finished with two hits apiece in the victory. Hintz also scored a run and drove in a team-leading three runs. Griffin collected a pair of RBIs while Jasinski and Boals each scored a pair of runs.
Stephanie Sanidas earned her first collegiate victory from the circle. She made the start and pitched six innings, allowing just five hits and two earned runs. She walked four while striking out five.
ELMHURST 5, UNION 1 - Elmhurst won its fourth consecutive contest by toppling Union 5-1.
After trailing 1-0 after just half an inning, the Bluejays scored five unanswered runs to close the contest. Union's 1-0 lead did not last long as the Bluejays pulled even in the bottom of the first on
Tiffany Potthast's sacrifice fly.
Elmhurst went in front 2-1 in the second inning when Hintz drove in fourth run of the day with an RBI single. Elmhurst tacked on three insurance runs in the fifth. Jasinski drove in a run on a fielder's choice and Boals added a two-run single to account for the Bluejays' final runs of the day.
Griffin, Potthast and Boals finished the contest with two hits apiece.
Boals earned the victory from the circle, tossing five innings and allowing just one run and five hits. She fanned four while not issuing a walk.
Stephanie Sturino pitched two scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit while striking out one.
Elmhurst faces the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Middlebury College tomorrow (March 26).
