WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's lacrosse team scored early and often as the Bluejays crushed Carroll University 26-0 to improve to 2-2 on the season.

Mal EusonMal Euson set an Elmhurst single-game record by netting seven goals in the victory.
Nick Klenck added five goals while
Alex Opyd and Jacob Cambron netted three goals apiece while helping the Bluejays open CCIW play with a victory.
Elmhurst wasted no time scoring as
Jackson Mandli connected on a goal just 1:41 into the opening quarter. Klenck scored seven minutes later to put Elmhurst up 2-0. The flood gates opened over the final 3:30 of the quarter as the Bluejays netted four goals. Opyd scored with 3:23 left and Klenck added his second goal just seconds later. Euson and Teyler Dailey scored beford the end of the quarter to give the Bluejays a 6-0 lead after the first quarter.
Elmhurst exploded for 12 goals in the second. Euson scored five times while Klenck added a pair of goals in the quarter. Dailey, Opyd,
Brandon Bethran,
Dan Curley and Jacob Cambron also found the back of the net in the second to give Elmhurst an 18-0 lead at the half.
Cambron,
Kyle Kritzer and Klenck added goals in the third quarter while Curley, Opyd, Euson, Cambron and
Matt Westhaver struck for goals in the fourth.
Elmhurst controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting Carroll 68-6 and finishing 12-of-12 on clearing attempts. The Bluejays also had a 59-14 edge in ground balls won 26-of-28 faceoffs.
Euson led Elmhurst's offense with seven goals, one assist and five ground balls while Klenck totaled eight points on five goals and three assists. Cambron registered seven points, scoring three times while adding four assists and also totaling five ground balls. Opyd added five points on three goals and two assists.
Kalani Flowers registered a team-leading five assists in the win for the Bluejays. Bethran won all 21 of his faceoff attempts and totaled 15 ground balls in the victory. Westhave finished with four points on one goal and three assists while Curley totaled two goals and two assists in the win.Â
Nick Bonastia stopped all three shots he faced to earn the shutout in the net.Â
Elmhurst travels to Aurora University on Wednesday, March 18.
