WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst wrestling team competed in its first dual meet of the 2015-16 season and walked away with a convincing 36-7 victory over Wheaton College.

Elmhurst won seven of the nine matches wrestled en route to the 24-point victory. 

The Bluejays started with a 6-0 lead after Anthony Munoz received a forfeit at 125 pounds. Caleb Ramos followed with a first-round pin of David Watson at 133 pounds to give Elmhurst a 12-0 lead. Jimmy Nehls blanked Wheaton's Eric Wales 11-0 at 141 pounds to score a major decision. Blake Santi followed with a second-round pin (3:57) of Owen Feenstra at 149 pounds to give the Bluejays a commanding 22-0 lead. 

Wheaton put points on the scoreboard at 157 punds when Jared Fekete upended Nick DiNardo by a 13-4 major decision at 157 pounds. 

The Bluejays answered back with a pair of 7-5 wins. At 165 pounds Keone Derain upended Frank Aiello, the CCIW Champion at 174 pounds last season, 7-5. Mitch Morris followed at 174 pounds with a 7-5 win over Stephen Aiello, a two-time national qualifier and 2014 All-American.

Wheaton scored its final points of the dual at 184 pounds when Tim Blickle defeated Bobby Schillinger 6-0. Elmhurst closed the dual with back-to-back victories. Colton Kelly toppled David Aiello 9-5 at 197 pounds and Zack Urbanski closed the dual with a 21-6 technical fall over Max Gierke at 285 pounds. 

Elmhurst wrestles at the Concordia University (Wis.) Open next Saturday, November 21.
