DECATUR, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's basketball team outscored Millikin 26-9 over the final 11 minutes to rally past the Big Blue for a 70-61 CCIW road victory.

Elmhurst trailed for almost the entire first 30 minutes of the contest before taking over the game late. Millikin (10-4, 1-2 CCIW) raced out to an early nine-point lead after a Devin Curry three-pointer less than seven minutes into the opening half of play. The Big Blue led by eight with 1:38 remaining in the half, but Elmhurst closed the half with six straight points to pull to within a bucket (31-29) at the break.

Millikin extended its lead back to eight points with 11 minutes left to play, but Elmhurst answered back with eight straight points over the next three minutes to even the score at 52-52. Millikin went back in front on an Alyssa Saklak jumper, but Elmhurst rattled off seven straight points to grab a 59-54 lead with 4:33 remaining. Elmhurst pushed its lead up to eight points with two minutes to play. Millikin sliced the deficit down to five points with 1:21, left but the Bluejays scored the game's final four points to earn the nine-point victory.

Elmhurst shot 45.5 percent from the floor (25-of-55), including 55.6 percent (15-of-27) in the second half. Â The Bluejays struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 3-of-17 attempts (17.6 percent) from three-point range.
Mikaela Eppard and
Hannah Lipman totaled 16 points apiece to pace the Bluejays' offense. Eppard recorded her sixth double-double of the season with a team-leading 12 rebounds. Lipman shot 5-of-10 from the floor while dishing out a team-best five assists.
Fiona McMahon added nine points and five rebounds while battling foul trouble.Â
Melanie Schwerdtmann came off the bench to total five points and seven rebounds.
Millikin shot 37.1 percent (23-of-62) from the floor, but the Big Blue hit just 3-of-19 shots from the floor over the final 11 minutes of play.

Three players reached double figures in scoring to pace the Big blue. Hannah Millington paced Millikin with 14 points and four blocks while Saklak totaled a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Yip Ypya added 10 points for Millikin in the loss.
