DE PERE, Wis. – The Elmhurst women's tennis team fell to 0-2 on the young season with a 9-0 loss to St. Norbert College.
The Green Knights (3-1) swept all three doubles contests and then took all six singles matches in the win.
St. Norbert's No. 1 doubles team of Elizabeth Manlick and Nancy Chybowski defeated
Lauren Kuehn and
Nicole Darga 8-2. The Green Knights took No. 2 doubles when Katherine Ake and Anna Gosz won 8-3 over
Brittany Kuehn and
Hannah Vaselaney. St. Norbert swept doubles with a win at No. 3 from Ashley Randazzo and Emily Rasmussen over
Allie Moran and
Arianna Coglianese 8-2.Â
Darga took her No. 1 singles match to three sets, but fell to Manlick 4-6, 6-1, 10-5. B. Kuehn dropped the No. 2 singles contest to Chybowski 6-1, 6-0, while Ake dispatched Vaselaney 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3. L. Kuehn lost to Gosz of the Green Knights 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 and Moran took a 6-0, 6-1 No. 5 defeat at the hands of Randazzo. Katlyn Gahan closed out a 9-0 St. Norbert victory with a 6-0, 6-0 dispatching of Coglianese.Â
The Bluejays travel to River Forest next Tuesday, Sept. 9 to take on Dominican University at 3:30 p.m.
