ROCK ISLAND, Ill. ,- The Elmhurst women's tennis team slipped to 1-4 on the season after suffering a 9-0 loss at Augustana College.

Augustana (9-2, 4-2 CCIW) swept the three doubles contests to open play. Dana Goggin and Lauren Goggin combined to blank Elmhurst's Lauren Kuehn and Nicole Darga 8-0. at No. 1 doubles. Mollie Magee and Miranda Pence toppled the Bluejays' duo of Hannah Vaselaney and Brittany Kuehn 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Amy Even and Chelsea Lavin stopped Elmhurst's Allie Moran and Andriana Parente 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play Lauren Goggin downed Darga 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while Dana Goggin stopped Brittany Kuehn 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Magee shut out Vaselaney 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles while Pence toppled Lauren Kuehn 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Vicki Andonova downed Moran 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and Rachel Kammerzelt downed Parente 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Elmhurst (0-2 in the CCIW) hosts Carthage College on September 24.
