WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's tennis team dropped their CCIW opener 9-0 to Wheaton College. 

The Thunder swept all three doubles matches and took all six singles contests to move to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the CCIW. The Bluejays fall to 1-3 and 0-1 in CCIW play.

At No. 1 doubles, Elmhurst's Nicole Darga and Lauren Kuehn fell to Julie Burrsma and Katie Park 8-2. At No. 2, Hannah Vaselaney and Annie Duggan lost to Lauren Schlabach and Kristie White at 8-0. Brittany Kuehn and Alexis Adams finished out doubles play with a 8-0 loss to Miranda Kay and Taylor Parrish at No. 3. 

Wheaton took No. 1 singles when Buursma beat Darga 6-0, 6-1. At No. 2, Park defeated B. Kuehn 6-0, 6-1, while Schlabach took out Vaselaney 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. White beat L. Kuehn 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Kay blanked Allie Moran 6-0, 6-0. Nelson wrapped up singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Adams. 

The Bluejays travel to Augustana College next Tuesday, September 16.
