Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team remained unbeaten on the 2014 season by sweeping Lake Forest College 25-19, 25-20, 25-10.
The opening set was tightly contested as the score was knotted at 17-17. Elmhurst rattled off four straight points to grab a 21-17 lead before closing out the set with back-to-back kills from
Melissa Nava.

The Foresters won nine straight points to even the score at 10-all. The score was even at 15-15 before Elmhurst ripped off three straight points to take an 18-15 lead. The Bluejays pushed their lead back up to six points at 22-16 before closing out the set at 25-20.
Elmhurst cruised in the third set jumping out to a 6-0 lead and opening up a commanding 17-2 cushion en route to the 25-10 win.
The Bluejays hit .295 as a team with 40 kills and 14 errors in 88 attempts.
Jackie Pavilonis led the Elmhurst offense with 10 kills in 14 attempts. Nava added six kills and five blocks while
Sam Szarmach totaled six kills and seven digs.
Shannon Burns and
Alli Rogers added five kills apiece in the win.
Taylor Nirchi finished with 21 assists and four aces for the Bluejays.
Elmhurst closes out the tournament by hosting Coe College at 3:00 p.m.
