Elmhurst Baseball Team Rallies Past MSOE

Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst baseball team scored seven unanswered runs to erase a five-run deficit and defeat the Milwaukee School of Engineering 7-5.

MSOE (12-22) scored twice in the first and added single runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings to build a 5-0 advantage.

After being limited to only three hits through the first five innings, Elmhurst's bats came to life in the sixth. A two-out error on MSOE opened the flood gates for the Bluejays as Luke Collins belted a three-run homer to left to put the Bluejays on the scoreboard.

Elmhurst scored four ties in the seventh to take the lead and pull away from the Raiders. Edgar Ross doubled to lead off the inning and scored on an MSOE throwing error on A.J. Compton's single. Tyler Wargo chopped a single to right to drive in Compton and knot the score at 5-5. Dave Wolak followed with a double to right center to drive in Wargo from first base. Ben Havel capped the scoring with a bloop double to center to drive in Wolak.

Wolak led the Bluejays at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance, finishing with two runs scored an RBI.

Brennan McClung picked up his second victory of the season in relief. McCllung worked 3.1 scoreless innings and allowed just two hits while striking out one.

Elmhurst (15-19 overall) hosts Illinois Wesleyan University on Friday, May 2.
