Box Score MEQUON, Wis. - The Elmhurst baseball team slipped to 8-17 on the season after falling 3-1 at Concordia University (Wis.).
Concordia (9-14) scored all three of its runs in the second inning. A walk and a hit batter came back to hurt Elmhurst as Bryan Thomas and Brandon Seifert banged out RBI singles to stake Concordia to a 2-0 lead. An Elmhurst error allowed Thomas to come around and score on Seifert's single to make the score 3-0.
Elmhurst struggled to get its offense going as the Bluejays were limited to only one hit and three base runners (two on Concordia errors) through the first five innings. Elmhurst had a scoring chance in the seventh after putting runners ot first and second with no outs, but a pop up and a pair of ground balls ended the Bluejays' scoring chances.
Three straight walks by the Bluejays to start the eighth inning loaded the bases, but the Bluejays managed just one run on a
Ben Havel sacrifice fly.
Tyler Wargo collected two of Elmhurst's five hits on the day and also scored the Bluejays' lone run.
Brennan McClung took the loss for the Bluejays, allowing five hits and two earned runs in five innings of work. He walked two and struck out one.

Jeff Guzzi combined to toss three scoreless innings of relief.
Tyler Gross earned the win in relief for the Falcons, allowing only two hits in three innings pitched.
Elmhurst hosts Carthage College in a CCIW doubleheader on April 18.
