ELMHURST, Ill. -
Kyle Wuest totaled 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Elmhurst men's basketball team to a 90-71 victory over Loras College.
With the victory, the Bluejays remained unbeaten, improving to 6-0. Loras slipped to 3-3 with the loss.
Elmhurst scored the game's first seven points and never trailed in the contest, leading wire-to-wire for the duration of the game.Â
The Bluejays pulled out to an 11-point lead midway through the opening half before Loras closed to within seven points with five minutes to go. Elmhurst closed the half on a 14-1 run with Wuest scoring eight points to help the Bluejays take a 47-27 lead at the break.

Nathan Rogers hit a layup.Â
Loras surged back using a 15-0 run over a five minute span to pull to within 14 points after a Bobby Harmening three-pointer.Â
The Bluejays answered back with a
Kenny Payonk bucket to push their lead back to 16-points. Elmhurst built its lead back to 22-points before putting the game away with a 90-71 victory.
Elmhurst shot 53.2 percent (33-of-62) from the floor, including 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from downtown. Elmhurst totaled 25 assists while committing just nine turnovers in the win. The Bluejays won the battle on the glass as well, outrebounding Loras 39-32.Â
Wuest poured in a season-high 20 points while shooting 8-of-10 from the floor. He added a game-high 12 rebounds in the win to finish with the double-double. Rogers came off the bench to score 18, hitting 6-of-10 shots, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Â WIll Nixon added 11 points and five rebounds in the win while
Jalen Loving and
Bryant Ackerman scored eight points apiece.
Mitch McLaughlin added eight assists and three points while
Pat Coleman scored seven points and totaled five assists.Â
Loras shot 39.0 percent (23-of-59) from the floor, including 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from three-point range. Aaron Schueller led the Duhawks with 19 points while Hamening and Mirko Grcic totaled 15 points apiece.
Elmhurst travels to Albion College on Saturday, December 6.Â
