ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Illinois Wesleyan University at Courts Plus.

The Titans (4-7, 2-4 CCIW) swept three tight doubles contests before winning four of the six singles matches over the Bluejays (2-7, 1-5 CCIW). 

In doubles action, Illinois Wesleyan's Brianna Dao and Gail Mar defeated Nicole Darga and Hannah Vaselaney 8-5 at No. 1. Josie Linman and Marina Johnson added to the Titans' lead with an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles over Brittany Kuehn and Lauren Kuehn. Illinois Wesleyan swept doubles play with an 8-6 win at No. 3. Randi Wilson and Allie Spontak won over Alexis Adams and Allie Moran in that match. 

All six singles matches were tightly contested with three of them going to three sets. Elmhurst won their first point at No 1 singles as Darga won over Linman 6-1, 6-3. The Bluejays scored their second point at No. 6 singles when Alexis Adams was victorious over Cayla Dole 6-3, 2-6, 10-7. Illinois Wesleyan took the next four singles matches. Dao beat B. Kuehn at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-4. The No. 3 singles match went to a third and deciding set with the Titans' Mar victorious over Vaselaney 6-0, 6-7(5), 10-7. Wilson won by a 6-2, 6-3 decision over L. Kuehn at No. 4 singles and Claudia McGee-Monrales took out Allie Moran in the closest match of the night 1-6, 6-3, 11-9 at No. 5 singles. 

The Bluejays host Millikin University at the Brune Tennis Courts tomorrow, Sunday, October 5, at 11:30 a.m.
