ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's soccer team dropped to 6-5 on the season and 0-2 in the CCIW with a 3-0 home loss to Augustana College.

The Vikings (8-3-1, 1-1 CCIW) scored twice in the first half before padding their lead in the waning minutes of the game. 

Augustana's first goal came just eighty seconds into the contest. Stephanie Buga's pass found Kelly Farell, who knocked in her fifth goal of the season. 

In the 27th minute, Farell added an assist when her long pass found Somer Druszkowski. The Augustana midfielder put her shot inside the far post to give her team a 2-0 lead. 

The Vikings added to their lead in the 87th minute. Brianne Frys' shot was deflected to the feet of Sammi Farkos who scored her first goal of the year. 

Augustana out shot Elmhurst 20-7 in the contest. Three players, Farell, Grace Iaquinta, and Jessica Kras, led Augustana with three shots. Megan Hart also recorded three to lead the Bluejays.  

Melinda Vickers made ten saves in net for the Bluejays, while the Vikings' Meredith Chew stopped three shots. 

The Bluejays look for their first CCIW win Wednesday, October 15 when they travel to North Central College.
