Box Score 2 ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst baseball team moved to 4-3 in CCIW play after splitting a doubleheader against Millikin, winning the season series in the process.
The Bluejays dropped game one 6-2 but bounced back with a 12-1 win in game two. Elmhurst upped its overall record to 11-7 with the split.
MILLIKIN 6, ELMHURST 2 - Millikin's Evan West held the Bluejays' bats in check for seven innings and limited Elmhurst to only six hits and two runs.
West held the Bluejays off the scoreboard for the first seven innings, surrendering only three hits in the process.
Millikin scored a run int he fourth, another in the fifth and two more in the eighth to take a 4-0 lead. The Bluejays got on the scoreboard in the eighth when
Greg Struck lined a bases-loaded single to left field to drive in two runs.
Millikin answered back with two runs in the ninth to pull away for the four-run victory.
West worked 7.2 innings and allowed just six hits, four walks and two runs while striking out three.Kyle Davidson finished up for the Big Blue, recording a save in the process.
Bryan Baker suffered the loss for Elmhurst. Baker allowed four runs and six hits in 4.1 innings of work. He walked three and fanned two.
ELMHURST 12, MILLIKIN 1 - Elmhurst scored early and often, scoring in the first five innings to put the game away after seven innings.
Brian Marquis went the distance for the Bluejays, limiting Millikin to only three hits and one earned run in seven innings. Marquis did not issue a walk and struck out one while recording his first victory of the season.
Dave Wolak and
Zach Tsiodras recorded three hits apiece to lead the Bluejays at the plate.

Alex Molek sparked the Elmhurst offense by driving in four runs
